  3. Project Photographs

The scope of work consists of the evaluation, replacement and rehabilitation of aged water and sewer pipelines in the Worcester Road (Route 9) area.  More specifically, the work includes:

Water

  • Design replacement of approximately 4,500 feet of water piping on the east bound side of Worcester Road, between Concord Street (Route 126) and the Natick town boundary;
  • Evaluation of approximately 3,500 feet of water piping on the west bound side of Worcester Road, between Concord Street (Route 126) and the Natick town boundary;
  • Design approximately 1,000 feet of new water piping, including valves and hydrants, on the west bound side of Worcester Road, between West Drive and West Couplet Road;
  • Design replacement of approximately 3,600 feet of water piping on side streets as follows:
    • 900 feet on Aberdeen Road
    • 700 feet on Ordway Street
    • 700 feet on Pierce Street
    • 800 feet on Dinsmore Avenue
    • 500 feet cross country between Pierce Street and Dinsmore Avenue

Valves, hydrants and service connections (to property boundaries) will also be included in the design.  Total length of new/replaced water main (exclusive of service connections) included in the scope of work is approximately 12,600 feet.

Sewer

  • Design replacement of approximately 2,200 feet of sewer piping on the west bound side of Worcester Road, between Concord Street (Route 126) and the Natick town boundary;
  • Design replacement of approximately 2,950 feet of sewer piping on the east bound side of Worcester road, between Concord Street (Route 126) and the Natick town boundary, including two open cut crossings (one at Shoppers World and another near West Couplet Road);
  • Design abandonment of approximately 5,200 feet of cross country sewer between West Couplet Road and Cochituate Road (Route 30);
  • Design approximately 5,250 feet of new sewer to replace abandoned cross country sewer.  Proposed new sewer route includes the North-South Connector Road, Burr Street Extension and a portion of Cochituate Road (Route 30);
  • Design rehabilitation of approximately 1,100 feet of existing sewer on Cochituate Road (Route 30) between Whittier Street and Burr Street;
  • Design replacement of approximately 3,100 feet of sewer piping on side streets as follows:
    • 900 feet on Aberdeen Road
    • 700 feet on Ordway Street
    • 700 feet on Pierce Street
    • 800 feet on Dinsmore Avenue

Manholes and service connections (to property boundaries) will be included in the design.   Total length of new, abandoned and rehabilitated sewer (exclusive of service connections) included in the scope of work is 19,800 feet.
