Wastewater Department Projects

The Wastewater Department will be replacing aging sanitary sewer mains, manholes, and service connections at the following locations between May and November 2017.

1. Waushakum Boulevard
This project includes replacement of 600 feet of existing  6-inch vitrified clay and cast iron sanitary sewer main installed in 1940 with 8-inch PVC sewer main, replacement of three brick sewer manholes with reinforced concrete manholes, and replacement of 14 service connections with 6-inch PVC pipe from the sewer main to the property line.

2. Guild Road
This project includes replacement of 600 feet of existing 6-inch vitrified clay sanitary sewer main installed in 1944 with 8-inch PVC sewer main, replacement of three brick sewer manholes with reinforced concrete manholes, and replacement of 15 service connections with 6-inch PVC pipe from the sewer main to the property line.

3. Cedar Street 
This project includes replacement of 195 feet of existing 6-inch vitrified clay sanitary sewer main installed in 1914 with 8-inch PVC sewer main, replacement of two brick sewer manholes with reinforced concrete manholes, and replacement of 6 service connections with 6-inch PVC pipe from the sewer main to the property line. 

4. Charles Street
This project includes replacement of  630 feet of existing 8-inch vitrified clay sanitary sewer main installed in 1920 with 8-inch PVC sewer main, replacement of four brick sewer manholes with reinforced concrete manholes, and replacement of 18 service connections with 6-inch PVC pipe from the sewer main to the property line.
 
5. Underwood Avenue 
This project includes replacement of 410 feet of existing 6-inch vitrified clay sanitary sewer main installed in 1949 with 8-inch PVC sewer main, replacement of three brick sewer manholes with reinforced concrete manholes, and replacement of 7 service connections with 6-inch PVC pipe from the sewer main to the property line.
